You don't have to be intelligent to pass the leaving cert. You have to have photographic memory or your parents have to be teachers, so they can teach you (at home) whats gonna be on the exam.
of course it depends on the school
1. A vet
2. A paleontologist
3. A well known cartoonist
health (need to know humam health in order to know animal health
science (what is the point?
And... the worst thing.... art! (Seriously, I have been in art and there is useless info that would help me with my career!
. Bell schedules

. A library
. buses that look the same
. Numbers for every Prisoner/Student
. Walking in lines
. Dress code
. Abridge freedoms
. authoritarian structure
. negative reinforcement

. and Bullies
You have to pay for food at school.
and you have to ask permission to use the bathroom at school.
You don't have to commit a crime to be forced to go to school.
And those who are good at school aren't more intelligent. They just have a very good memory and lots of ambition. And school only tells facts, never reasons. And most good students don't wnat to know/don't know why things are the way they are. They are just proud to be able to list them... sad... sad... really good teachers tell reasons, but they often get bullied by the students and other teachers for only telling "useless" things... - because they aren't needed for exams, but for the own knowledge.
I am pro education and anti school! School ruins education!
For many years, I loved science because I found it so interesting and easy
Then physics came along and ruined everything All because of how much goddamned math it involves
School especially ruined history class for me...I just got so fed up with it that I refused to memorize anymore about the Holocaust and Nazis (that was literally all they taught in American history with maybe a week or two spent on Columbus, the original American colonies, and the Civil War) and started failing the courses. I learned far more from (less than) 6 months of reading Cracked articles on American history than I did in 7 years of history courses. Just pathetic...
On a more pathetic note on my end, I almost gave up writing when more than one teacher compared English to math--though I can see how it's like math, I prefer to see it as a form of art.
My parents were shocked. XD
(The school also gave out nasty food that would make your stomach hurt. They also made children pick up trash.)
I've started to like school better, though. My teachers from the past three or so years love their subjects and try to make it fun for us. At the end of this year, I even went back to visit my favorite teacher from last year. She was, of course, very happy to see me again.
Or people can go to some parts of Africa where there is no schools.
